Simone was introduced to pottery aged 5 at an after school club in Crouch End. She delighted in the silent focus of making and made a host of strange hand built forms, in particular a tortured teapot with knarled spout glazed in speckled blue that she proudly presented to a great aunt one Christmas as a gift. Since then, Simone has interlaced pottery in and around school and work until 2015 when she joined Turning Earth, an open access pottery studio in East London.
The facilities at Turning Earth gave Simone the chance to work with clay outside of the fixed term confines of a pottery course. In 2016, she left full time lawyering at a City firm to move to Bristol and was lucky enough to find studio space at In Bristol Studio.
Since joining In Bristol Studio, she has been able to grow and develop her practice surrounded by a vibrant and supportive community of mixed media inter-disciplinary artists. She now supplies bespoke work to restaurant partners and independent stockists.
