In Bristol Studio is hosting a one-day Emergency First Aid At Work training course, which is being delivered by Acorn Safety.
Acorn Safety‘s emergency first aid at work training is aimed at those organisations where a first aid needs assessment indicates a lower risk environment or where a course is needed to compliment other first aid provision.
This one day course provides delegates with essential safe saving skills and knowledge. Our courses are delivered by knowledgeable and enthusiastic trainers all of whom hold adult teaching qualifications supported by professional qualifications.
This course starts at 09:30 and finishes at 16:30, with an hour break for lunch from 12:30-13:30 (please bring lunch with you), and there will also be opportunities to network with other people who work at artist studios across Bristol.
Acorn Safety’s trainers have gained hands-on first aid experience from a variety of different backgrounds over many years including nursing, armed forces, emergency services, hospitality, Voluntary Aid Societies, as well as other industry sectors before becoming qualified instructors.
Teaching 18,000 delegates a year, Acorn Health & Safety offer training to individuals, groups and entire staff teams. We are committed to providing excellent training delivered in a relaxed, yet informative style.
How do we approach emergency first aid at work training?
The course programme employs a variety of teaching techniques to meet the needs of individual delegates and includes the following:
– Understanding the role of a first aider
– Contents of a first aid kit
– Record keeping
– The unconscious casualty
– Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the safe use of a defibrillator
– Management of a choking casualty
– External bleeding and shock
– Catastrophic bleeding and the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings
– Providing appropriate first aid for minor injuries, including small cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns, scalds and splinters
Owing to the practical nature of this course a basic level of general fitness is required. Delegates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course as outlined above.
What should you expect from Acorn Health & Safety?
We’ll provide delegates with a variety of printed course materials including workbooks and handouts. On successful completion of this course delegates will receive a printed course certificate indicating compliance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Post course, our team of consultants and trainers are available to answer any questions you might have. You’ll also receive an automatic reminder prior to course expiry.
